In 1947 a group of lions felt there was a need for transportation for children with disabilities. With their own vehicles they began the first transportation program for these children. This idea developed into what we now know as the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities and the BC Easter Seal operations.

There are approximately 240 Clubs and 5200 lions and lioness in British Columbia.
