Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay
for the Kids
The 2013 Easter Seals 24 Hour Relays will be held:
· Kelowna – June 8/9
· Vancouver – June 15/16
Victoria – June 22/23
With over 5,000 participants, volunteers, and organizers, the 24 Hour Relay is the largest fundraiser of its kind in Canada. The event originated in Vancouver in 1979 and has been duplicated worldwide. Since 1980, the Relay has raised an extraordinary $25 million for children with disabilities.
Each year, an average of 20,000 people make a pledge to the 24 Hour Relay. Close to 200 teams of 20 runners gather each June to raise funds to benefit the BC Lions Society's three Easter Seal Camps - Squamish, Shawnigan and Winfield. Each year the Relay sends over 850 children from British Columbia to the Society's specially-equipped camps free of charge.
