The National Bank Financial Group Easter Seals WAVES Regatta proudly hosted by the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, features three days of racing on Centreboard Weekend and two days of racing on Keelboat Weekend.
The Keelboat weekend includes the very popular Easter Seals Cup – an event which supports a great cause - Easter Seals House Vancouver.
Keelboat Weekend is open to the following classes: Cal 20, Dragon, Farr 30, J/24, Martin 242, Melges 24, Star and the PHRF/ORC handicapped fleets. It is also open to those boats only taking part in the Easter Seals Cup on Saturday afternoon. The event will feature a dock and lawn party including barbeque, live music, entertainment, activities for the kids, silent auction, and awards.
Centreboard Weekend is open to the following classes: Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 29er, and Optimist. In addition the Regatta will host the inaugural Club 420 BC Championships and a dinner held on the Saturday evening.
The Cause - Since 1990, the Easter Seals Regatta has raised over $3 million in support of a much needed home for families traveling to Vancouver for medical treatment for their children. It is with great pride that the sailors can give back to the community by participating in this event.
