Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay for the Kids
The 24 Hour Relays are held in Vancouver, Victoria and the Okanagan. With over 10,000 participants, volunteers, and organizers, the 24 Hour Relay is the largest fundraiser of its kind in Canada. The event originated in Vancouver in 1979 and has been duplicated worldwide. Since 1980, the Relay has raised an extraordinary $25 million for children with disabilities.
Each year, an average of 40,000 people make a pledge to the 24 Hour Relay. Over 200 teams of 20 runners gather each June to raise funds to benefit the Lions Society of BC's three Easter Seal Camps - Squamish, Shawnigan and Winfield. Each year the Relay sends nearly 900 children from British Columbia to the Society's specially-equipped camps free of charge. For more information on the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay for the Kids or on how to get involved in one of our three relays visit www.24hourrelay.com or contact the Lions Society office at: 604-873-1865 or toll free 1-800-818-4483.
